I started at NJIS 1998 and completed Grades 5 and 6. I remember the school to be inspiring for my learning for math and science. I studied marine engineering at NTNU, Norway. I would like to thank NJIS for being a great school.

NJIS – North Jakarta International School – is family. The five school years I spent at NJIS were definitely exciting, with many opportunities given to us, students. Everyone in the school knew each other.  The communication between students and teachers, teachers and teachers, and last but not least, students and students, was evident. These connections are not easily achieved, but at NJIS, it is something common. There are also plays, electives, class assemblies, House competitions, UN Day, and Fine Arts Show, which all show the progress students make in order to be a better learner. The school makes every student feel special both academically and socially, always including everyone in the “family.” NJIS is a place where students can try out many things the school offers, and feel included, which is what I consider the best aspect of being a student there.

I chose NJIS as it was recommended by other NJIS students and familieswhen I first came to Indonesia. My first impression on this school was ’comfortable and hospitable’. Despite the fact that I was in a totally new environment, a new country, new school, and language, I could instantly immerse into NJIS family-like atmosphere the school offered me. Adapting to this new school, I felt the strong patience and passion of all teachers who were trying to lead all the students in the right direction. NJIS provides many different kinds of plays and dramas open to all age groups. Students experience the diversities of the different cultures from the multi-nations, which allowed my family to have a broader vision about the world. Since the class was differentiated by the level of student’s proficiency in English, it really helped students like me who had transferred from non-English speaking to the fullEnglish-speaking environment to pus themselves to show more of their talents. A five-year education at NJIS has brought me remarkable improvement in English, and all the experiences and hardships I went through have become my life assets.
